Meet Your Partner in Healing
Brandi lea Harris, LMBT

Brandi has spent the last few decades devoted to her own healing journey which has led her to deeply receive, study and now offer the tools that she has found most valuable on her path to others. A lifelong mover, dancer and devotee of the embodied path, Brandi began receiving the healing benefits of Reiki after a catastrophic nearly fatal car accident in her teens and later began studying and practicing Reiki and energy healing on herself, as well as her family and friends. As she healed and moved into adulthood her path centered around the performing arts evolving from dance into theatre, acting, directing and teaching. Brandi attended the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company Acting Conservatory in NYC, where she later returned to teach Body, Breath & Movement and Yoga for Actors classes on faculty while also serving as the Director of Conservatory Admissions . It was within performing arts training that she was introduced to the somatic arts and found deeper layers of healing and embodiment through breath work and biodynamic voice work, Alexander technique, 5Rhythms movement meditation and training through various physical theatre methodologies including Viewpoints and Suzuki training with senior members of the SITI Company. The actor's work of being seen while channeling the emotion of life necessitated a softening of the layers of unresolved trauma, armoring and resistance held in Brandi's body and being. The art form gave her the desire and permission to be witnessed. This combination of somatic exploration and creative expression was deeply transformational for Brandi's creative life and inner healing. After leaving NYC, Brandi moved back to New Orleans where she taught Yoga, reconnected with practicing Reiki and founded Good Medicine Yoga & Food hosting a variety of pop-ups, collaborations and events centered around healthy, holistic living. She also served as one of the founding facilitators of the New Orleans Ecstatic Dance Collective leading monthly conscious dance events throughout the city. During her time in New Orleans, Brandi attended a 700-hour Clinical Massage Therapy program and became a licensed massage therapist in 2017. She later began her study of Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute in 2020 after receiving a year of intensive Craniosacral Therapy sessions that had a profound impact on the chronic pain she still experienced from the earlier car accident. Brandi was called to the beautiful mountains of Southern Appalachia in 2020 and has continued to deepen her relationship to her own healing and to her practice layer by layer. She continues to study Craniosacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute and through individual mentorship with LuviaJane Swanson, DC, CST-D. Brandi has also experienced the honor of receiving deep healing and reconnection to the natural world through community-based healing ceremonies, rituals and practices informed by indigenous wisdom traditions. Brandi was honored to serve as an apprentice and space holder for these transformational healing retreats before accepting her most challenging and rewarding role of stewardship, as a Mother. Brandi approaches her work with compassion, connection, skillful professionalism and deep reverence for the human journey, the stories we embody and our innate ability to transform adversity into resilience. When not in session, Brandi enjoys spending quality time with her 4 year-old son with their bare feet on the Earth, exploring the majestic beauty of Appalachia, and sweating her prayers on the dance floor.
